Lorne Ave. is the only residential east/west bidirectional through street in Old east village, stretching from Adelaide to Charlotte St. In order to keep pedestrians, children and commuters safe, the residents of Old East Village propose permanent traffic calming measures on Lorne Ave. between Adelaide and Quebec Streets. With the Adelaide underpass project well underway, we expect increased traffic on our street as commuters try to avoid road closures and trains at rush hour. We want to keep our community safe, and believe an assessment on Lorne will prove that permanent traffic calming measures are essential.
