What is being proposed?
Due to the number of resident requests, the City of London will be installing basketball nets on the existing multipurpose court in Mornington Park. This court was originally constructed to accommodate both ball hockey and basketball, with basketball nets to only be installed when there were enough requests from the local community (thanks to Lauren Schmenk for initiating a petition!)

There will also be improved connectivity between the court, the park pathway and the city sidewalk on Mornington Avenue.
Next Steps
Construction for this project is set to begin in September 2017, dependent on weather conditions.
The City of London is also accepting questions, comments and suggestions regarding the accessible design features, specifically of the park path. In particular, city staff are looking for feedback on "slope of trail, need for ramps, location ramps, need and location of rest areas, need and location of passing areas, amenities on the path."
